Until We See You Again

Our hearts are broken today
Sorrow, again, has come our way
A shepherd called to be with the Lord
A man that many hearts adored

The pain is great in this loss
A fallen soldier of the Cross
Gone home into His open arms
Freed from this world’s harms

We celebrate a Christ filled life
Mourning for the church, family, and wife
Our faith is tested in this trial
But this too will pass in a while

God is faithful and has a plan
On His promises we can stand
While our heart’s healing begins
We wait until we see you again


Family in Christ,

There are times that words seem shallow and offer no comfort. There are times when words are stolen away. The lead singer of Mercy Me once referred to the “curse of a songwriter” when we put our experiences into words. But we are given gifts from the Lord to share through our writing our emotions, our experiences, our joys and our pains for His glory.

Whenever I write about my personal experiences I have no fear or worry about wearing my emotions on my sleeve. It is times like these when the emotion is shared by friends, families, and others that I fear to take away from a moment.

My family and I have only been here a short while and was not able to really get to know our Pastor before he was called home. But we loved him as a member of his flock. We have experienced the loss of our Pastor at our last church and fully sympathize with our current church.

I pray that these words can offer some comfort to the friends and family of Pastor Larry as we mourn his loss.

Please continue in your prayers for Pastor’s family, friends, and church.
