For hundreds of years they sat in the darkness, waiting for the light to come.
When it finally came many didn’t recognize it as the prophecied one.
A light so bright it could heal the broken and open the eyes of the blind
But for others it hurt their eyes and brought too many of their faults to mind

Some tried to put it out the best that they could to stay in hypocricy
While some of them cheered the others mourned and wondered how this could be

Like a prism our lives will blast out a million colors from the greatest light of all
