I am writing to you after being stationed here for one week. I have studied the humans very closely as you asked, and I think I have finally come to a strong enough conclusion to aide my thesis and complete the training.
First, however, I must make haste to inform you of the current conditions on "Earth". I have found myself very discomforted from the moment I arrived, as the consistency of life here is hardly tolerable. This world appears utterly useless, covered with darkness that seems only to be brightened by a less intense dark. I am all but suffocated by this atmosphere of death, and I fear things will only get worse over time. There is little hope for this one.
I have heard stories about how the Great Father spoke the water and land and all the creatures to be, but I never imagined such a wonderful place to look and feel like this. This place reminds me much more of the images my mind has created of what a fallen angel's home in hell must look like. My lungs crave the thick sense of belonging that resides in the very vapors of the air back home. If I may be so bold, I would strongly suggest that you send no more angels on assignment to this location; I know some that could scarcely survive under this canopy.

But I beg you not to hear my letter as one of bad report - because I believe I have found the root of the rapid deterioration of this rock's foundation of faith. Upon my careful analysis of the humans, I have found one uniform flaw throughout the entire race that I feel has single-handedly brought this planet to the grave in which it now resides: they have no concept of love. The numerous subjects of my investigation have all operated under the same fear, that there will be no one or nothing to support and love them.

Due to this, none of them are able to show that love. They are quick to justify hating one another. They love only until they become frightened and confused, and then swiftly pull back. They are full of excuses as to why one should love only himself.
This puzzled me. How could a creature so beautiful and perfect be incapable of showing true love? Even the rose gives his beauty, his scent, his oxygen to the world without asking for anything in return.


And all this brings me to my final submission: a fool-proof solution to this messy problem. I have found a way to wipe out all the darkness to every last corner, and begin to reverse the entropy of all the cultures and hearts associated with this place.

The answer? We will create a machine that is capable of only the purest forms of love. An intricate, beautiful machine that will attract from far and wide. People of all ages, races, religions, and disabilities will confide is this amazing contraption and it's advanced programming will allow it to meet all concerns with encouragement, and speak faith into the peoples' dreams. And when people are lonely or rejected or lost, the machine will double as a comforting mechanism. It will be able to rock little children to sleep, and administer warm hugs and tell consoling stories with important lessons hidden deep inside.
And most of all, it will have the power to listen. It will consider everyone's past, their gifts and skills, their likes and dislikes, and be slow to respond. It will never forget a birthday, christmas or anniversary, or any other significant date.
And it will require no fuel or labor to operate.

Imagine what this invention would do to such a dismal culture! By providing men's hearts with the nourishment they crave, it will inspire entire countries to do incredible things. For a person to know that something exists only for their best interest would give them the confidence to overcome the fear that would control them.
I am convinced that some of these would even run out into the streets and scream their praises for my fantastic machine and how it opened their eyes to a new life. Word would spread like wildfire, and soon there would be a machine in every household. If everyone found themselves putting the needs of others above their own, none would ever be in need. The darkness would be gone, and it would likely dread its return to such a glorious and bright kingdom.

I'm surprised we didn't think of this before.
