Prophecy

For nation
will rise
against nation....
and there will be
famines
and earthquakes.....
all this
is but the beginning
of the
birth-pangs.

Hey, LORD?
What's goin' ON?"

"What, child?"

"With all these earthquakes,
and stuff. What are Ya
DOIN'?"

[SILENCE.]

"Did Ya know some
people are saying we're
in the END DAYS?"

"Yes, My child."

"Is that a YES or a NO?"

[SILENCE.]

"WELL?"

[AGGRAVATING SILENCE.]

"How come Ya can't just
TELL US?
(Squint up at ceiling fan.)
I don't think that's FAIR,
LORD!"

"What's not fair,
My child?"

"Well, I think You should
be TELLIN' us, everything,
THAT'S what!"

"Ah.
[NOD.]
But I have,
My child."

"WHEN? I didn't hear
NOTHIN'!"

"No, child:
where."

"Where what.
(Squint rather nearsightedly.)
What's where?"

"My Word, child.
My Word."

of the Kingdom
will be preached
throughout
the whole world,
as a
testimony
to all nations;
and then
the end
will come.
