Be my hope.

Can I peek behind the veil
and look upon your face,
or hide from your sight
to avoid my disgrace?

Be my comfort.

Can I build a mighty tower
to reach up to your hand
or will my own Babel
collapse and crumble into sand?

Be my shelter.

Can I defeat this giant?
Lord, he’s twice my size!
Will this smooth stone miss
or collide between his eyes?

Be my strength.

Can I enter into paradise
where you are clothed in light,
or will this cross be my death
where all is turned to night?

Be my savior.
