There is a raging river
Running deep within my soul
A constant rush of torment
That my spirit can’t control

That twisting, winding river
Destroys all that’s in its path
My spirit then contends with
All its wake and aftermath

I feel there is a struggle
Brewing with my heart and mind
A never-ending battle
Good and evil on the line

The dark comes to defeat me
Rob me of what I believe
The light just keeps on shining
As I fall down to my knees

I know I must surrender
To my Saviours beck and call
The dark is so persistent
I’m afraid that I might I fall

I find the strength he gave me
In His grace I overcome
In Him I become steadfast
And the battle has been won

For he will never leave me
To fight evil all alone
Cause he is placed in Heaven
At the right hand of the throne
