Abraham’s Seed

If you be Christ’s, then are you Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise of God. We Christians are bought with a price. The price is the shed blood of Jesus Christ as payment for our sins. If you are bought with Christ’s blood, then you are Christ’s, you belong in His family. This is what makes me a seed of Abraham and an heir of the promise that God made to Abraham. We have to note that there is a multitude of people who claim to be the seed of Abraham. Modern day Arabs are the descendents of Ishmael a son of Abraham through Hagar the Egyptian. But we know from the bible that they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God, But the children of the promise are counted as the seed.

In order to be a seed of Abraham that makes you a child of God you must come through the promise seed, which is Jesus Christ. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promise made, God said not, and to Abraham’s seeds as of many; but as of one, And to your seed, which is Christ. Jesus is the seed to whom was the promise made. If you belong to Christ
{a Christian} then are you Abraham’s seed. God does not recognize all of Abraham’s children as seeds of promise. The children of the flesh are not recognized. This might seems contradictory seeing that I was born after the flesh, Isaac was born after the flesh, and even Jesus Christ Himself was born of a woman of the flesh.

God does something very special in the lives of those that are truly seeds of Abraham that came through the promise seed. Isaac was a promise seed and God did something in his life that He did not do in the life of anyone in the old Testament. We are told in the word of God that Ishmael was born after the flesh, but Isaac was by promise. The bible goes on to say that, he {Ishmael} that was born after the flesh persecuted him{ Isaac} that was born after the Spirit. This tells me that Ishmael was a product of the flesh and that Isaac was a product of the Spirit of God. Ishmael was born by the flesh and Isaac was born with the help of the Spirit of God moving upon a woman that was barren and not able to bear Children. This should not surprise you seeing it happen again four thousands later when the Holy Spirit came upon the virgin Mary, the Power of the Highest overshadowed her and she gave birth to a Son, Jesus Christ.

If you are still in shock, then let me testify to you that in nineteen eighty three the same thing happen to me, The Holy Spirit came upon me and I became born again. As many as receive Jesus Christ God gives them the right to become the sons of God, to them which believe on Jesus’ name, they are born, not of blood, nor because of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of any may, but because of God. This is the work of God, the Holy Spirit. I am born again not of a corruptible seed but of a incorruptible seed {Jesus Christ}, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever. If you are a promise seed of Abraham, then you have been brought into the family of God through His Spirit. I pray that you are enjoying all the promises that God made to Abraham and his seed after him, Amen.
