Greif shackles me in the moment
As clarity shatters my Johari window scouring the rose tint from my glasses

The fields I have travailed on this journey remind me daily of the seeds I have sown, the lives I have swindled and the diction that has slain bloodless victims that still breathe

I gather, I sow
I sow and I gather

My efforts to reap Heaven leave me dysphoric and breathless
Despondent passion slumps and plods, inadequately convincing tepid desire to stay the course

Rent earth stained with blood from my shredded fingers fills the air with the pungent vapor of onions

I have scattered and I have fathered, I have watered the earth with my tears
Fidelity captains this tattered soul
as I serve the scent of saccharine
