Is your heart ever stirred
By a gem from His Word?
Does joy ever flood through your soul?
Does high praise from your depths
In crescendos erupt
When His Spirit a treasure unfolds?
Does the world's wisdom fade
To an empty charade
Compared to a gleam from above?
Does your whole being prostrate
As you contemplate
His merciful, measureless love?
Then be glad and rejoice!
For His Word's come to life
To encourage and build up your faith.
He has opened your ears,
His "still small voice" to hear,
Hidden manna from Heaven to taste!

This simple poem is a gem also! The first bible verse I ever put to memory was, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." My favorite psalm is 19. Speaking of the Word of God, it says, "sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb." Your poem is a magnificent "Amen" to both of those verses. Thank you for writing what I believe.
