On Being a Woman

Soft Sweaters
I like soft sweaters
after a day at the beach
where the winds and waves
have treated me as if I were
just another rock.
But I'm not and the softness of sweaters treat me as a woman.

Truth
I know the truth of day, that God is real;
but now, tonight, a pair of arms
seems more real.

Falling Asleep
I'd like to fall asleep in some man's arms tonight.
My desires aren't wrong. God created me a woman,
So I've grown to be, that the nighttime often tells me I'm alone.

When a Woman
Only as my woman heart speaks from my soul
do tears of sorrow and joy, mingle,
finding union with who I am.

To feel -
it is my gift, to express what I know
struggle with what I don't. It is my pain-
tears flowing from the well of who I am.

It is my hope, as words of truth
filter through the intuition
of my self.
When a woman, I am at home.
I am free, to be.
