Meditation 4/16/08

"Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from captivity."
Jer. 29:12-14(NKJV)

"Then" you will call upon Me? Why do we wait until we are "in captivity" before we call upon the Lord? When we call upon the Lord and pray to Him with all our heart the first thing upon rising, we will not end up in captivity except TO our Lord! Jesus came to set the captives free. All we need to do is "come" to Him! Shake off the shackles of the day before upon awakening. Bind them over to the Lord for the day. Commit your day to Him. And all day long, if you find yourself being bound up again, go right then to Jesus to be set free. Promise Jesus that you will be captive only to Him!
