Oh, that I could pen some words to melt the heart of stone;
To pierce the ears that haven't heard, souls that have never known
The news that man's salvation is found in Christ alone,
Who by wondrous incarnation came from Heaven's throne.

The blessed Lord who lived as man, and showed how man should be;
Privy to His Father's plan, hanged naked on a tree:
Darkest hour the world has seen, when Jesus breathed His last:
Hell rejoiced in fiendish glee; its plan had come to pass.

God's great saving work was sealed from Hell's unseeing eyes:
His plan would only be unveiled on Sunday--- at sunrise!!!
No corpse in that tomb of stone, no stench of death and hell:
Jesus, by God's power arose; the curse of death was felled.

Oh! That you would fly to Him, who gave His life for you:
His death would be your death then and you would rise up too.
Eternal life to all who come, not one will He reject;
Bare your soul before God's Son; the way is open yet.
