Rain Down On My Thirsty Soul

I will wait for you like the dry earth waits for the rain�eager to feel your presence wash over my thirsty soul. First come the drops, just a sprinkle that hints of the coming flood. And before I know it, my hands lifted high in praise are catching the overflowing rain.

Rain Down On My Thirsty Soul

O God, my God, Everything to me Thou art
You are the Light that shines in my heart
For more of You my soul does pant
Hear my petition Lord and please grant
My soul longs for more of You, O Lord
Living without You I can not afford
Your love is more precious than life itself
Just give me more of You, nothing else
You are the only One who can satisfy
The only One that my soul magnifies
I am standing with my arms opened wide
Longing for more of You on the inside
Come now Lord, please don't delay
Rain down on my thirsty soul today

Psalm 42:1
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks,
so panteth my soul after thee, O God."

I am constantly praying for the Lord to rain down on me. I love to be in His presence. Thank you for sharing. The article is well written and the picture is a beautiful accompaniment.

This is lovely and heart felt. I have a poem in my article entitled His touch which gives a picture of what happens without His Touch. By the way where do you get these great pictures?
Keep pouring out your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. He will always respond to words like these.

Oh how I've missed reading your poems. This poem excites me because I am thirsty for more of Him too. I just can't get enough! Everytime I am in His presence He gives me more and more. We must spend time in His presence daily. In any earthly relationship, the way to develop relationship with someone is to spend time with them. We need to pour out our hearts before Him, sharing the most intimate details of our lives, our hopes, our dreams and our very heart with Him. He needs to be number one in our lives, above all others, and above all else.
