TIPS TO EMPOWER YOUR CHILD TO LIVE

The enemy whose purpose is to steal, kill & destroy does this in our children’s lives in various ways & fashion such as: Ignorance, Negligence, Peer pressure, school, diseases, abuse {both verbal, physical & emotional}, violence at home, Abortion, children having babies, sexual promiscuity & many more.

But thank God for our Lord Jesus Christ who came that we may have life & have it more abundantly. The few tips below will help you to empower your child to live, if you follow it carefully.

1. Be committed to the Spiritual welfare of your home than your church activities, putting your child in Christian school will not make him live except you make your home a Christ centred one. Deut 6:4 -7
2. Teach your child to choose between God & his peer; through this he’ll learn how to overcome peer pressure. James 4:4
3. Teach your child what the scripture says his duty is to you i.e. to honour you for it gives unto him long life. Eph 6:1-3.
4. Do not provoke or discourage your child as well
5. Always plead the blood of Jesus over him before going out of the house & when ever the thought of him comes to your mind.
6. Relate the Bible to your child practically, e.g. where it says immoral explain to him as he may seek the meaning outside which may become a snare for him.
7. Teach your child the word of God which is Spirit & life, hammer, mirror, sword, perfect law of liberty, truth, & God’s instrument.
8. Live an exemplary life as this may be the only memory your child will live by.
9. Remember your growing up & use your mistakes to help your child now.
10. Help your child academically, sit with him & look at the subjects which he’s not doing very well in, as this will help you to see the reason for not doing well in it and to offer solutions to become better.
11. Have a positive family relationship like asking him what his day was like, good communication, taking a stroll together & chatting.
12. Empower your child to develop and live out his talent, for example if he likes drawing appreciate what he draws & encourage him to do more.
13. Keep your youth occupied or else the enemy will keep him occupied.
14. Screen what he watches on T.V, the type of game you occupy him with. Comic books, myth, witches, new age symbols, pornography, satanic symbol, rock music & such like are the enemy’s way of building strongholds in your child.
15. Talk to your child on premarital sex as early as possible before the school or friends influence him.
16. Listen when your child speaks to you; allow him to pour out his heart.
17. Check his body concurrently to see if there are bruises, scars, cut, wounds, marks, many children receive occultic mark without the knowledge of their parents & they grow up with it. Be vigilant.
18. Are you trying to conceive, make God your want and pursuit & not the baby that you want?
19. Pray always even in the language of the Holy Ghost for your child. Remember there is an angel over your child; make that angel active through prayer. Matt.18:10
20. Both parents must agree on your child’s discipline, if one of you disagrees with action, handle it while the child is not there.
21. Know your child’s friends.
22. Encourage your child to tell you his daily, weekly, or monthly prayer points.
23. Encourage parenting message on the pulpit.
