Once in a time, twice in a lifetime.
You just might understand that growing never stops.
You’ll wake someday at the end of your rope
Or set sail to a destination unknown.
Wishing things would be the same
Or at least just be all right.
Pointing the finger, you notice the ones pointing back.
Time can heal but memories remain
So the reminders are the first to go.
You are lost wanting to be found.
You are wandering, no where to be bound.
You give and it only hurts others
Can’t you understand the world doesn’t want another man.
It just wants to cry on your shoulders so broad.
As you carry yourself behind your wall of protection.
It just wants to tell you their problems or ask about God.
And you listen, thinking no one cares.
Now you are screaming out at the world
And not listening to your sisters and brothers
You notice that you have lost yourself
And now your identity is in others.
You have been called a liar, cheater, and someone who doesn’t care
But when all Hell breaks loose, you help and you are there.
Yet no one notices and thanks you for what you have done.
So just hold your head high
While your voice isn’t heard and feelings are shunned.
You are trying to figure out is it you
Or is it the others acting like hypocrites.
Making up rules that are not right
Just sugarcoat the past so they don't have to deal with it.
The only difference between stepping stones or stumbling blocks
Is if they are noticed or not.
What is the color of the sky in your world?
For there is no sky in mine.
Confusion is reality, and the truth is just a joke.
Oh friend of mind I feel the pain too.
It is all because I am you too.
Be honest with yourself and don't ever change.
Keep acting out of love taking things for what they are.
Don’t listen to their lies.
I know you hurt, so make a choice.
Don’t give up
Fight with strength and courage says the voice.
