Family
Several days ago I turned 75. I was born at home during the depression. I can remember when postage stamps were three cents, a loaf of bread was a dime, and the earliest I can remember, gas was 99 cents for regular. I made a lot of friends, and at my age, lost a few too many. All in the span of ¾ of a century. WOW!
One of the most important occurrences in my recent life was the meeting of Linda Arthur, my best friend on July 04, 2004. Most of my readers know I moved to Alabama to share living space with Linda, her son Jason, his wife Jennifer, most recently her grandson Garrett Wade, my cat and all their dogs.
Linda and the kids prepared my birthday dinner. I am quoting their birthday cards. I am not doing it just because they are pretty, but so you know how much I am loved, and therefore how contented I am.
God blesses us
With people who brighten our lives by taking time to listen and to care
They really make a difference with their kind and helpful ways
They see our needs and lift us up in prayer.
God blesses us
With people who always make us smile,
They share our happy moments and our tears,
Their gentle ways of giving make living more worthwhile
And they keep growing sweeter through the years.
Special people like you are God’s way of smiling at us.
