“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in the earth, or things in heaven” (Colossians 1:20).

Our Heavenly Father is a God of Restoration
This simple means that God is a God that
Gets things back to its original status (before the fall)
That is what the Greek word ‘apokatastasis’ means
i.e. returning the earth back to its perfect state
Jesus as a man achieved this when He
Died for the sins of the world

Jesus demonstrated restoration
He healed the sick; He fed people—He raised people from the dead etc.
He brought Heaven’s characteristics to earth
No wonder He prayed,” …your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10
He demonstrated the ‘Will’ of Heaven

Jesus Christ came to raise up man from a state of ruin
Jesus Christ came to restore man back to God’s Original idea
Which is found before the fall; He has not given up on this plan
Our Heavenly Father is a God of Restoration
How much more then shall we not restore certain things in our lives
We should act like our Heaven Father and continue the work of Jesus
