Mr. And Mrs. Mittal were sitting on the dinning table with their 5-year-old son Lakshya for the breakfast. Mr. And Mrs. Mittal were doctor in the same hospital. It was the time to drop Lakshya to school. He studied in one of the best school of Delhi. But, evidently Mittals were one of the richest doctors of India. The three members of the family sat in the car. Lakshya went to the school and his parents in the hospital. Lakshya was a genius boy. He studied in 1st standard. “Hey! You won the first prize for the drawing competition held last week, congratulation!” exclaimed Anshul (Lakshya’s friend). “Thank you, that’s really a great news. My parents will be delighted”, said Lakshya. Days passed on.
Final exams of Lakshya began. He worked hard like a labourer. The day to get results arrived. Vasundhara (Lakshya’s mother) and Neeraj (Lakshya’s father) were ready to take Lakshya’s report card. They walked cautiously to the assembly hall to collect Lakshya’s report card. They saw the massive crowd of parents over there. After a few minutes Lakshya’s name was announced. Lakshya’s heart was beating fast. He went near the teacher. His hands trembled while taking the report card. He was confident to get a good rank but he was slightly nervous. He opened the card and shouted “hurray!” with a long high jump in excitement. He secured 99%. “Marvelous! My child, you are really a genius”, said his mother with a natural smile. His friends wished for a grand treat. He didn’t hesitate to spend a large sum of amount for such good news. BUT AS YEARS PASSED ON HE WAS HABITUAL OF SUCH GOOD RESULTS IN THE SCHOOL IN EVERY FIELD. HE USED TO GET THE AWARD OF THE BEST STUDENT OF THE SCHOOL EVERY YEAR. AND HE LIVED HAPPILY WITH HIS FAMILY. Lakshya was a big boy now. He studied in VIIIth standard now. One day when Lakshya was ready on the dining table he could see a chaos state in the house. He asked astonishingly “What’s going on here? Why are the suitcases being packed?” His father replied, “we are going to Bangalore with today’s flight for some urgent work. Are neighbour and our servant will look after you till we returned.” NOW, LAKSHYA WAS VERY EXCITED AS HE COULD DO ANY THING HE WISHED FOR, AS NO ONE WAS THERE TO STOP HIM. BUT HIS HAPPINESS DIDN’T SEEM TO BE VERY LONG AS SHOCKING AND THRILLING NEWS SNATCHED AWAY ALL HIS HAPPINESS. THE AIRPLANE IN THAT VASUNDHARA AND NEERAJ WERE GOING CRASHED. THEY WERE NO MORE WITH LAKSHYA. But, obviously these words were incredible for Lakshya. Tears shed from his eyes. “No, my friend, you aren’t alone till I’m here”, said Anshul trying to console him. THE GOVERNMENT CONFISCATED THE PROPERTY OF MITTALS. HE ASKED HIS FRIEND ANSHUL THAT IF HIS PARENTS COULD ALLOW HIM TO LIVE IN HIS HOUSE BUT THEY DIDN’T ALLOW LAKSHYA TO LIVE WITH THEM BECAUSE OF THE HIGH EXPENDITURE THEY WOULD HAVE TO BEAR. BUT, SOON LAKSHYA FOUND A JOB FOR HIMSELF AS A SERVANT IN AN OLD MAN’S HOUSE WHO WAS FAMOUS FOR HIS BRUTALITY TO CHILDREN. HIS SALARY WAS VERY LESS BUT WORK WAS MORE. HE STILL DIDN’T STOP STUDYING, HE ATE ONE TIME IN A DAY TO GIVE HIS SCHOOL FEES. HE ALSO ASKED THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL FOR FEE-CONCESSION. One day while sweeping the floor with his small, cute hands, he noticed a sapphire ring fallen down. The old man caught him on the spot and slapped him hardheartedly for as he thought that he was trying to steal the ring. He was expelled of the house. Now no one would keep him in the house as he was rumoured to be a thief. He could no longer work in the houses. To make the both ends meet, he worked in factories, tea-stalls and finally in a garment store. This taught Lakshya about child exploitation. But the owner of this store was very kind and he loved children. He used to give bonus to children on festivals. Now he had sufficient money for his living and school fees. This continued till +2. Suddenly, the owner of the store met with an accident and he died. Lakshya had to give his school fees. He was desperate. However, by God’s grace he got the money soon. All his classmates contributed and collected some money for his fees. But, Lakshya knew that this wouldn’t happen every time so he had to search for a job. Lakshya tried many places but he couldn’t get a good job because of his small age. But he got a job in a call-center because of his good qualifications. Because of this hectic schedule he could hardly find any time for his studies. He was studying in a medical college. The day of his final tests arrived. He gave the test. Results were declared but sadly there was not his name. But he didn’t lose hope. He tried second time and fortunately his name was there. He was a successful doctor now. He was very special from other doctors because what he was today, he was on his own labour. BUT IMAGINE ABOUT OTHER THOUSANDS OF SUCH LAKSHYA, THEY ARE NOT AS LUCKY AS HIM. THEY CAN BE SEEN ROAMING AS VAGABONDS ON THE STREETS. I REQUEST YOU ALL TO PLEASE HELP AND TAKE DELICATE CARE OF SUCH CHILDREN.
**** THE END ****
