HE SAID NO

I asked God
If I could borrow
Time from tomorrow
To see if the decisions I made
This hour, would cause much sorrow
He said no !
Sufficient for the day
Is its own trouble
I asked God if I could
Just go back
Do it all different
Right all the wrongs
He said no!
You're where you belong
I asked God
Where do I go from here
How do I turn it all around
In my grace do you abound
I asked God to remove the sword
He said no !
There is consequence to sin
I will show you how to begin
FORGIVE YOURSELF !
Till the ground
Plant lots of seeds
Share Me with others
Do it with love
From my Father above
And watch your garden grow
I am the past
I am the present
I am the future
I am all things
Peace I bring to you
So lift up your head
You've been covered
By the blood of a King
I forgive you everything !

I like this one...I think we all have been in a place of wishing we could go back or go ahead of ourselves to change or prevent something. He says no because no matter what in Him our steps are ordered. Good job!

Yes the lessons we must learn...
Thank you also for your kind comments.
God bless you.

Yes... it is all about Him, if we let Him be our all in all.

This is Gary's wife Linda and I noticed he wrote this to you but sent it to himself. He does not understand how to answer letters or comments. I don't either but came to read your poems and enjoyed a number of them and thought I could let you know here and include his letter at the same time. I wasn't sure if you were a member to receive th private messages as Gary is not yet.
Glad you enjoyed the poem about cruncher and the cowboy. I wish that I had ridden him and won the money and the truck but alas, it was all a figment of my imagination. I wrote it out here in Calgary Alberta during the Calgary Stampede festival. It is billed as the (greatest outdoor show on earth). I was actually at my daughter's home here in northwest Calgary, and my wife and I were laughing so hard during the writing of it that my daughter called down from upstairs a couple of times (can you guys keep down the noise). It was the funnest and one of the funniest poems that I have ever written. I guess the good Lord knew I needed a good belly laugh. We have enjoyed sharing it with friends and I have had a small number as well ask if it was a real adventure that I had experienced in my life. The closest I have ever been to a bull is looking at them from afar, very afar. My friend was saved through that verse, I can do all things through Christ who strengteneth me. I still remember him sharing his testimony with me in that regards. As far as your sunflower poem, we have a farm back east in Ontario and at one time we had a couple of pigs. I called one bake and the other bits. what a weird sense of humour eh? Anyways, I would tell people that they were free rototillers. They would root the rocks from beneath the ground out and then we would transfer our tomatoe plants as well as other plants we had into that area. Thank you pigs! Anyways, unbeknowing to myself a sunflower seed had fallen out of my shirt pocket and took up residence in the gardened area. It actually planted itself right in the middle of that garden. Not knowing anything about how these plants looked as they were growing I asked a friend of mine what this hardy looking stock was and he said that is a sunflower seed. I guess the good Lord wanted us to have the blessing of this plant for our as well as our friends viewing. Praise the Lord. That particular plant grew to be over nine feet tall. What a blessing that is was to watch it grow. I used to throw in a bowling ball for the pigs to play with but they were hard wired for rooting and didn't take to the sport as much as I thought they would, and me being a good sport in doing so, at least I thought that anyways. O well enough of rambling. My pen is dry and I am running out of oink! Have a great day!

Judy, not unlike my poem, 'and God said No'. When will we ever accept Gods Perfect Plan?!!
Nice writing. God Bless. Elizabeth.

Oh, how many times do we ask this of our heavenly Father?! Taking one day at a time isn't always easy, but, with Jesus we can. Love in Jesus to you my sister in Christ. Anita

A real inspirational read! I find that it's often just as hard to forgive yourself as others. Satan can easily get us fixated on the past, wishing we could go back and do a lot of things better. God help us all to see ourselves and other believers through the precious blood of Christ.

Thank you so much for writing this piece. Often times I want to go back and change my past, thinking I would be so much farther spiritually. He said, "no" because I won't have the same testimony to share with others. Thanks again for sharing.

This poem really irons out any wrinkles of doubt when it comes to questioning God. Nicely done - and thanks for stopping by and checking out some of my writings.

This was a blessing to read and a reminder that when God says NO, it is only because our trials serve a greater purpose . . . I will be praying for your brother, that God extents his life. Tell your brother to read his bible everyday. Pro 3:1-2 says, My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee . . . May God bless and keep your heart.
