Encouragement

"I have come so that they may have life, and have it to the fullest." -John 10:10

This week, God has been showing me how the small blessings in life can draw us closer to Him.

Jesus promised us ABUNDANT life, and I believe that abundance is made up of not only the large blessings(ie, marriage, children, a raise at work, a new home) but the small ones as well-getting a greeting card in the mail, finding a coupon for your favourite product, getting a close parking space, a smile from a stranger, etc).

The Holy Spirit gave me the image of a fruit basket, and showed me that every fruit makes up the abundance of the basket, the larger fruits, such as apples and oranges, as well as the smaller ones, such as grapes, strawberries, or blueberries-together, each of these fruits makes up the colorful basket of fruit.

Small blessings are sometimes of equal importance as large ones. Maybe you are waiting for a promise to be fulfilled in your life, and one day at church, your friend encourages you on that matter. While the initial promise may not have been fulfilled that day, no doubt, your faith was strengthened, and that promise seemed more real. A small, simple word, given from a godly friend can make someones day, and God uses that in the same way that He uses the bigger blessings.

Also, no matter how big the blessing, or how small, the same sized God gives them all :)

Jesus promised abundant life, life filled to the overflowing with His goodness, His very best for you!

Dear Lord-thank you that as you lead us along the straight and narrow path of a walk with you, and as we do not look to the left or to the right, you put in front of our eyes beautiful things, things only You can give. Help us to recieve the awesome blessings you have for us, as we look to you for every answer to every need we will ever have,
