It must be lonely being the only
One who is right;
To the day I heard you say,
"You're a good night!"

Must be boring, to the point of snoring,
Winning each debate;
If you were a woman she'd be the one
For yourself to date.

Your own ego is your wall,
And each brick's a lie;
What will it take to make it fall;
Allow another by your side?

Your own ego is an ocean,
Each wave a dangerous swell;
Your own motive's your heart's motion;
Will you move to hell?

Are you so haughty for gifts so lofty,
As if they came from you?
Can't you see they come from Me;
Now give the Father His due.

I see your pride is a way to hide
From your greatest fear;
You being wrong's a scary song,
Sung in a spiteful jeer.

With an ache, I pray you break
Even if it hurts;
In your pain, you'll call the Name;
His love do not besmirch.
