Death’s knell has been duly rung true.
Lifegiver’s life was spent for you.
From garbage pit and dusty hill
this One called “Lord” proclaimed His will.
The dying One yelled that He has won,
for He is the Father’s Son.

Appearing foolish to make this claim
making demons a spectacle was His aim.
He made a way for Divine mercy.
He paid for it upon the tree.

From a body broken by man,
He shouts His own fervent command.
His strength is known for all it’s worth,
His victory shook the very earth.
All men heard His Father’s hail,
confirming it by torn temple veil.

With resounding blow on eternity,
His gift is giv’n for you and me.
From blood-stained lips, losing life,
Victory’s called to break all strife.
With Lordly voice and determined eye,
Comes the violent call, “Tetelestai!”
