Like A Child
Trusting, joyful, dimpled chin
Always keeping the angels busy
Exploring fields, climbing trees
Singing, in the spirited breeze
Plays with friends, having fun
In the cool of day,
Created by One.
Embracing life, running free
On golden shores by the sea
Like a child we ought to be -
This is the key to our destiny.
Like a child we ought to be
While our hearts are quietly beating
Like a child we ought to be
Whereas, life is short and fleeting.
Trusting, joyful, dimpled chin
Always keeping the angels busy
Delighting in our walk on the earth
As we now experience blessed rebirth.
Matthew 18 :3 And said, Verily I say unto you,
Except ye be converted, and become as little children,
ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

So much packed into that one statement of our Lord's. "Like a child ..." What is a child but one who is curious and anxious to learn and in need of learning so much; looks up to his heroes instead of assuming he is one; able to bring joy and show unconditional love to those around him by his simple innocence; in need of protection and nurturing and not afraid to ask for it.
