As I walked down the road,
I was heading for town,
When I met a man
Who bade me, sit down.
I looked in his eyes,
He said; 'Listen to me'
And the words that he said,
Seemed to hang in my head
As they were meant to be.

Hear me sing a new song,
For I found the light
After searching so long.

I may be old, but my story unfolds
Life's great mystery!


Now, [he said] just take me,
Been both father and son.
I learned how to walk
Before I could run.
When you look in my eyes,
Now, what do you see?
Revelation of truth,
You are me, I am you,
For we wear no disguise.
Then [he said;] Have you heard
Of a place and a time,
Poet lost in words
Found a reason to rhyme?
I leave you my gift,
The same gift that I bring.
The lion, the lamb,
The love that I am,
You will hear yourself sing!

He told me; 'So long'
And as he walked away,
I remembered the words,
He just happened to say.
So I walked down the road,
And I stopped for a while,
For the words he had said,
They still hung in my head
And I started to smile.
