After many, many, months my new book “Winds of Change” has been released, and is for sale as either a soft cover bound book for $19.95 plus shipping and handling or as a PDF ebook for $17.95 at www.booklocker.com.

Before I tell you about the book, let me tell you of its checkered birth. It was conceived in 2004, shortly after my first book “Cherish the Past” was released which, by the way, will be rereleased as an ebook this summer.

Then a friend of mine from NYC invited me to join Xango, so the book went into hiatus for several months.

Then in 2006 I went back to it. I had it about half done, when my computer crashed and took my book to an early grave. There was no way I could recapture it because Gary Gossman, my medical careperson, had helped me write the medical terminology accurately.

I kept the ‘dead’ hard drive. One day after my new computer came, with no instruction manuals, I had to know something so I called Jeff Ussery who took his lunch hour to help me.

I told him about the dead hard drive, he took it and brought the book back to me the next day on a CD.

I went back to work on it, and shortly after that moved to Alabama. I really went to work then because it took a while to get hooked up to my wireless internet connection. And the rest is history.

Now to give you a taste of how the book reads. I am going to give you a glimpse of a short chapter in the book.

A CHANGE OF HEART

Later on that afternoon Casey came to see Becca. “I wondered when I was going to see you, Casey. How are you?”
“I’m doing fine, but more important how are you?”
“Other than the fact my back is broken, and I can’t walk, I’m fine.”
An uncomfortable silence fell between the two young people, broken when Becca said “Please don’t take this the wrong way, Casey, but I think it would be wise if we broke up.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Things are very different for me. I can no longer walk, and I don’t intend to be a burden to you, or anybody else, if I can help it.”
“You wouldn’t be a burden to me.”
“Yes, I would, Casey. Anyway I have to concentrate on preparing myself for life in a wheelchair. You deserve more than that in a girl friend. You showed me some good times while we were together, and I’m grateful for that, but enough’s enough. I want nothing more than for you to be happy, Casey. Please don’t feel sorry for me. I don’t know what God’s plan is for me, but I’m sure He has a plan for my life. I don’t like facing life in a wheelchair, but at least I’m still alive to do it. It could be so much worse.”
“I know you well enough to know better than to argue with you once you’ve made up your mind. May I kiss you goodbye?”
With eyes glistening with tears, she nodded. As he leaned over to give her a soft kiss on the lips, he said “You know if you need anything or just want to talk, I’ll be there for you.”
As he disappeared down the hall she let the tears fall.

HAPPY READING! And one other thing. Be sure to tell people you know about Winds of Change. Word of mouth is the best advertisement my book could possibly get.
