A New Prescription

Anita Murray, a 26 year old, wife, businesswoman, mother of a little boy and girl, had spent her days and nights in fear and suspicion of everyone around her. On a May 5, 2007, Anita found herself in an Oklahoma City psychiatric clinic to undergo a series of tests to determine her problems for she was unable to eat, sleep and she was suffering from pain in her joints and back. As she proceeded through tests after tests, not one of the three medical doctors could find anything physically wrong with Anita. The fourth doctor, James Cain, MD, a specialist in pain, pain therapy and internal medicine, sat in His office chair to review her case history and the examinations of the three other doctors’ test results. After roughly ten minutes, to Anita’s surprise, Dr. Cain opened His arms wide then said: “I know precisely what you need Mrs. Murray. Here is my prescription—cry, Anita Murray!”

Within a minute of His prescription, Anita began to cry unceasingly on the doctor’s shoulders.

“It all gets to be a heavy, heavy burden for you young mothers, doesn’t it, Anita Murray?” Dr. Cain responded. When Anita stopped crying, Dr. Cain said: “I admire every one of the mothers who come to Me with their burdens and fears. You are a special creation! Yes, you are!! Now Anita Murray I’m going to give you My diagnosis and a prescription. Is that okay with you, Anita Murray?”

Anita nodded in the affirmative with a smile on her face though tears still rolled past her cheeks. Dr. Cain wrote:

DIAGNOSIS: Acute motherhood
PRESCRIPTION: Daily Prayer Three Times Each Day

“Please return to my office in three days,” responded Dr. Cain in a kind and soothing tone of voice as He patted her once trembling hand.

After three days, Anita, now smiling, returned to report she slept well, ate nutritious meals and had more people come to her in friendship and empathy. One year after seeing Dr. James Cain, MD, Anita Cain found, that as a remedy for problems and disorders, the good doctor’s prescription did well for all of Anita’s friends as well as Anita herself to their amazement.
