One day when You called me, I heard Your Voice so kind,
The fetters of sin fell off, and I was no longer blind.
I started then in new life, as happy as could be,
I read Your Word everyday, and reveled in grace so free.

I was on the Narrow way, bound for the 'Promised Land',
Determined that I'd follow this path for me God planned.
Oh, there were many roads, that trailed off to sin,
But I would not be swayed, I'd follow to the end.

Through the years I've struggled on, up the narrow way,
I've hidden God's Word in my heart, and oft' I daily pray.
When the hills are steepest and temptation comes to test,
Oh, I have learned to pace myself, sometimes stop to rest.

They say it's good to smell the roses, there along the way,
Watchful eyes to left and right find places to stop and pray.
Many parks and campgrounds are hidden further 'round,
And many wonderful Christians back there can be found.

The Christian life is strenuous and sometimes hard to bear,
What a blessing all these folks who listen, love, and care.
Churches here are filled with Christians in Sunday best,
Praising God in worship, on His wonderful day of rest.

Then one odd day I found myself, reading in God's Word,
About the Israelites wandering, and all they saw and heard.
God Himself led them out, delivered safe and sound,
Pharoah's army was destroyed, every last man drowned.

From Sanai's Mount who could forget, old Moses glowing face,
A Cloud by day, a Fire by night, God led from place to place.
And all along, there was a Path, that led to Canaan's Land,
But they would not obey, nor yield to God's Command.

How foolish, I thought, that people can just forget their God above,
They wander off that Narrow Path, yet He waits with Grace and Love.
I realized that 'they' were me, and my eyes o'erflowed with tears,
How long have I been wandering, wasting such useful years?

That Narrow Path I'm meant to walk is on the other side,
I'm not living in open sin, but in complacency abide.
I am called to be a Light, reflecting Christ on Earth,
Living so the world can see the meaning of New Birth.

So, here's a message to the many Christians that I've met,
Aren't there enough lost and dying going to Hell yet?
God has called us to the fight, to follow and obey,
Shining beacons so the lost can find the Narrow Way.
