"But who will pray for Me?"

I felt God's calling long ago, and eagerly answered Yes!
I love to serve, I love to love, I love to truly bless,
tho' many years I've served the flock, the great surprise to me,
they all think I am Superman, ....but who will pray for me?

I'm just a man with aches and pains, like any one of you,
I fall short of God's great plan, like other people do,
I'm on call for all my flock, each hour of each day,
and when you call at 2:00 am, I get out of bed to pray.

I go to hospitals where you're sick, tho' I'm not feeling well,
to take vacation or family time, you think I'm doomed for hell,
an when I preach the tithes and offering, why do you get so ill,
Some think I should work for free, and not worry about the bills.

If it seems that I'm complaining here, I ask you to forgive,
I'm just trying to bare my heart and tell you how I live.
What do I need most of all?, well, the one thing that is free,
to know you're there when I ask, "who will pray for me?"
