For Timothy.


Your spirit is broken
and you’re sick of this fight
your little heart just wants rest
from this illness that plagues it
from night to endless night.
You’re searching for rest
and longing for peace
wanting this to be over
for the simple sake of sweet release.
But don’t lose hope
and don’t give in...
And when the waters start rising higher
fight the drowning urge to sink,
reach for the surface, and swim.
Because I have faith and I believe in you...
And though the trial is arduous..
The journey never coming to an end
I’ll walk along side you and give you my hand.
My arm, a support,
My shoulder, a beam
a wonderful structure in which you can lean.
Your spirit is broken
and you’re sick of this fight

But it’s not your time, at least not now
I won’t accept the simple subtleties
of throwing in the towel..
Maybe that makes me stubborn
but honestly I just don’t care
and I’d like to think that’s something
which we inherited, and we both share.
My heart can’t take losing you
and I know others feel the same way
do you think you could muster up the courage
and fight this thing through one more day?
then one more day after that?
And the rest that keep coming
will be a lot easier to hack.
We all are praying for you.
We all love you.
Keep your chin up kiddo.
