Rise Up

There is a time that we must rise up
A time that we must fight
We must use our authority in Jesus
If we are going to win against the creatures of night

The enemy will always attack
Of this you can be sure
But we can actually go forward
We don’t just have to stand and endure

Our shield of faith will quench the darts
But to just stand there is not cool
The only way to win a war
Is to take up our spiritual offensive tools

I can see a man with his shield
Standing as the darts bounce off
He sees the hill up ahead
But to go forward, he seems to scoff

The enemy will not run out of bullets
So to just stand and wait will not produce
Sometimes we must go on the offensive
If this battle we are not to lose

I am reminded of an attack
That tried to make me offended
I knew that in me I wasn’t upset
So I had to refuse to be upended

I had to voice out loud
Lying spirit depart
I have no reason to be hurt
I have no ill feelings in my heart

The enemy can only succeed
If we accept his lies
We must learn to reject his ploys
And his voice, recognize

We must rise up
In Holy Spirit power
And push back the enemy and his forces
And be the Church, that rules in this hour.
