When Asked, Know Who Sent Your Savior
St. John 16:30
Now are we sure that thou knowest all things and needest not that any man should ask of thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
Jesus comforted his Disciples with the assurance, a pledged guarantee, being certain in the mind, confidence of mind and matter, freedom from self doubt or uncertainty that though he was leaving the world, he was returning to the father that had sent him and a plain declaration of Christ’s mission from the father and his return to the father.
If anyone ask you from whence he came and where he went you tell them what Jesus said. He came from the Father who sanctified and sealed him and he came into the world to handle his father’s business of redeeming fallen mankind back unto the father. It is plain and easily understood. Jesus when he had finished his work here on earth left the world of his own will. He was not forced away, as he was God in the flesh, he made his own act and deed to leave the world and he will return to it when he comes to put an end to it. Though not in a fleshly body, he still reigns here on earth spiritually with his church.
His disciples had heard Jesus say this many times before but now it had just registered in their minds what it is he was telling them. Though they did not understand they did not question him either. Jesus spoke plainly what he said times before but in parables. The Spirit as the wind blows when and where and by what Word he pleases is not always perceived right away, but it will after repeating take hold. Once a person understands what is being spoken the understanding and faith is accomplished. In faith one can be sure. Faith rose up because of his omniscience. This proved that he was a teacher come from God and more than a prophet that he knew all things which they were convinced of by this that he resolved those doubts which were hid in their hearts and answered what they had not yet confessed.
The people that will know Christ best are those that have had some experience with him. How can one know if something works if they have never tried it or someone else did not tell them it works? To know of the power of God it must have worked for someone at some time or the other. How do you know Christ loves you, you accept by faith the finished work on the cross at Calvary? Jesus was a divine person with a divine mission and is a discerner of the thought and intents of man’s heart. He is the essential eternal Word, searches the reins and the heart and confirms his faith to you. Now if Jesus knew who he was and who sent him, should not man be assured of who called him and what for what purpose?
