Holidays
Yay! Its finally New Years Day! Its time to throw away the old and make way for the new.
Ok. What do you think about resolutions? If your like me you break one of your resolutions by the end of the month. Like for instance, food! Oh yes. The scrumptious delicious, can't get your eyes off that piece of cake, food. That is the number one enemy to our resolution. And then you have exercise. Do you cringe when I say that word? Ohh. The trouble it takes to lose 5 pounds. Whats even more troublesome is when it comes right back.
I have a suggestion that I think would be helpful during the new year. Of coarse make about 10 resolutions, but only say what you know your going to do. You may say you want to lose 20 pounds, and stop eating so many sweets and so on and so on, but what's the point when your know you won't be able to do that at all? First make a schedule, allow yourself to eat one sweet and start it slow. Resolutions can be just pieces of paper that you write little what I'm going to do lists on, and never finish it. Or they can be life changing papers that really do help you in the new year.
We can make up our minds to be whoever we want to be. We can decide to follow the resolution or not, but we all have our own will. You can say no or yes. And sometimes we have to fight ourselves in order to do whats right.
In the dictionary resolution can mean two things.
1.Resolution (logic), a rule of inference used for automated theorem proving.
Resolution (law), a written motion adopted by a deliberative body.
1.A rule of inference used for automated therem improving.
2.A written motion adopted by deliberative body.
So, you see a resolution is a changing in ourselves. When we go into 2008 its a new year. A new beginning. We need to try to make ourselves different, we dont have to really change ourselves but just certain things we want to change that will improve us. As you step into 2008 remember that whatever you write down is a choice. A choice to improve or just another fake written request to ourselves.
