How wicked man had become
His thoughts only evil all the time
This grieved God and made Him sad
Regretted that man had become so bad

Wiped from the face of the earth unabated
Verdict on all whom God had created
Birds animals and insects under the moon
For a mighty flood was coming soon

Instructions to build an ark did God give
Only a few select in it would live
Noah’s family eight in all
The only ones who heeded His call

The animals came two by two
Out of the ground the creepers too
Male and female did they come
To be kept alive and out of harm

For forty days and forty nights
Did it rain upon the heights
Over hills and over mountains
Pour it did like many fountains

Covered all from shore to shore
Till all living creatures were no more
Noah and kin in the ark did stay
For God’s command he did obey

When water from the earth receded
A dove sent by Noah proceeded
Back with an olive leaf it returned
They all rejoiced no more concerned

An altar to God Noah did raise
Made an offering his heart full of praise
A Rainbow in the sky did appear
Floods no more should they ever fear
