Untimely Death

Gone too soon and I am left behind
feeling the pain of carrying on
I cry for the man you never got to be
And I cry for the child you never became
So fleetingly you passed through my life
But had time enough to make a lasting impression
They say you've gone to a much better place
Only you never told me
what was wrong with here
I must understand
things my mind will never comprehend
and find peace for within your goodbye
even when I never got to say
How much I love and would miss you
There were so many things I should
have put into words
Although I don't know if you would have understood
You meant so much,but got so little
The world never deserved you
you were just too good
If only I could grasp that concept
and allow you to rest in peace
Instead you are lingering
on the annals of my heart
replaying every precious thought
every little deed, everything that made you
that exceptional person you were
You are gone too soon
or is it that I was too late
I miss you, but you'll never know how much
You breezed into my life
and quickly made your exit
nver found the time to tell me goodbye
But I'm telling you bro
Be happy, be contented, free from pain
Tell the Lord, won't you
that someone loved you here
