This poem is written for a very dear person in my life who is being put through one trial after another, they have gained strength only from the Lord and the Lord has brought them closer to Him through these trials. I pray for strength for them that God will deliver them from the fire of these trials and that they will be refined as pure gold! Danette



Broken

Lord this heart is broken
Filled with sorrow and pain
In my life these troubles
Keep falling down as rain.

I have nothing left to lose
For my whole world is gone
Hanging onto hope in You
Is what will keep me strong.

This how Job must have felt
As he sat scraping his sores
With broken pieces of pottery.
Can my life take much more?

Is this what will happen
When to You I do not come?
You find a way to break me,
Knowing Your will be done.

Lord, now that I am broken
And I’ve given it all to You
Sitting amongst the ashes
You will see me through.

Clothed in sack cloth broken
The way you want me to be
For now to You I am open
This is what you want of me.

To use me Lord you make me
Humble and closer to Christ
When no longer broken
Others will see you in my life.

Lord,
You need me to be broken
And spilt out on the ground
Your strength will be my life
You are the grace I’ve found
