My CRECHE

The talents He has given me
made me decide, "This I will do for Thee" ...
Three months before Christmas,
I took out my crochet hook.
I didn't care how long it took.

I unraveled the blue yarn
and single-crocheted Mary's gown.
I placed Her in an homemade Stable in Bethlehem Town.

Then came Joseph to stand by Her side.
I thought of how these two helped to change history's tide.

Next I laid the delicate Babe in the Manger of wood.

This gesture made me ponder all He's done --
ALL THE GOOD.

The crochet hook then made the woolly sheep.
All my crocheted treasures
reminded me of His Statutes I want to keep.
Then atop the Stable came the guiding Star.
It led the Wise Men with their gifts from afar.

I used the best of yarns and beads
and embroidered all their faces.
It came to mind how each one is His favorite
-- ALL NATIONS -- ALL RACES

Looking for the missing of their flock,
the shepherd boys came.
What met their eyes! They were never the same.
They joined their curly creatures in adoration to the King.

I wind my music box and my creations together
"SILENT NIGHT" sing.

All the Love that went into my cherished Creche's making, joyfully made me think ... HE'S OURS SIMPLY FOR THE TAKING.

AMEN. AMEN. AMEN.
