I believe that one of the reasons that God has extended my years way beyond the allotted three score and ten was His hope that it would finally dawn on me how blessed I am and have been all my life. And at long last, it has!

Given a life filled with ups and downs, harrowing, horrible experiences, good, bad, indifferent ones, lowest low points, highest high points, and everything in between, played like a violin with a broken string, I have to say in all honesty a great deal of the foregoing was a result of my own ineptness and bad judgment. But finally after it has all been added up, evaluated, blended and put together, it has become a beautiful bouquet tied with a festive red ribbon, a complete whole: a gift from my Father, perfect, like no other, and just what I needed.

My thank-you note to Him knows no beginning and no end.

Merry Christmas, fellow pilgrims! And may the Light ahead get brighter and brighter as the New Year dawns.
