I have to admit, it is difficult for me to understand how someone could hate our Lord so much they would try to stop Christmas, one of our National Holidays.

The assault on Christmas seems to grow each year as retailers to present with a Holiday message rather than one that includes Christmas.

Let’s think for a moment how we might bring Christmas back. What if everyone stopped buying presents until the stores cried uncle? After all, we are not shopping for gifts to celebrate the Holidays.

Who celebrates Holidays? What would the Holidays be without Christmas?

Yes, the biggest shopping day of the year, based on the birth of Jesus Christ, has been subjugated to a holiday.

When I receive Holiday cards from well-meaning friends, it’s nice they remember me, but it’s like asking me to drink lukewarm water to satisfy my thirst.

I once got caught up in the Holiday greeting frenzy until I realized it meant nothing. I don’t celebrate holidays and neither does anyone else. We remember and celebrate the One who gives us life-eternal, Jesus Christ. That’s why I now send Christmas cards and wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Why do people want to stop Christmas? I believe the reason behind the anti-Christian movement is fear of judgment. As sexual perversions permeate our land, the assault against Christianity grows ever stronger. Those who hate God find it’s not the offense that worries them. It’s the judgment that awaits them. Therefore, they must do all they can to wipe our faith from this earth so they might feel better about themselves.

Isaiah spoke to Israel warning them to get right with God. In 59:14-15, we see a similar situation. God told Isaiah there was not justice. Truth is missing and righteousness is afar off. He said that “Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey.”

In other words, things got so bad in Israel the judges became corrupt. People denied truth and preyed on those who shunned evil. Sound familiar? It should. You don’t have to look far to see corruption on our court system. Try telling someone you have the truth…once they stop laughing, they will ask you what gives you the right to tell them what truth is and is not. Finally, last time I looked Christians were the only legitimate group open to slander and intolerance.

To the world we are right-wingers and bigots who exclude or discount other religions as true faiths, because they are not.

And let’s not forget we are robots, dummies, mind-numbed and illiterates who are easily duped. And we are people who want to force our morality on others.

We are judgmental people who think we are the only ones with the truth. Or and this one hurts, because it is partially true, we are money grabbers who use our faith to bilk older believers, the poor and widows. Gulp!!!

Well, then there are those who tell us Christmas should not be celebrated openly. Tell the little children that. I tried to tell my little grandson we are canceling Christmas. He ran to his grandmother to see if it was true. Of course, I was only kidding. But little children don’t find it funny.

So for all of you out there who want to stomp on my faith and kill Christianity…Try selling Holiday as a reason to buy presents. My guess is Holiday won’t cut it in the future. Once we lose Christmas and the reason for it, say goodbye to your biggest sales season of the year.

As we used to say, “Don’t kill the golden goose.” And “don’t kick the messenger.” In this case the goose is Christmas and the messengers are the believers who love this season and remember it for what it is. It is the time a child was born…the Savior of the world. We celebrate this child whose name is Jesus. He is the true, living God. The One who was, is and is to come.

Now here is the bad news. You, who try to silence us, will one day kneel before Him. Yes, one day, you will see Him as He really is. You will see Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Only problem…it will be too late for you. Because once you see Him as Lord and Savior and see that we were right all along, you will gulp. Yes, you will suddenly realize we were right about Him and if we were right about Him, we were right about everything else.

Of course, I probably would do more than gulp. I probably would have a heart attack right there, because that is when I would realize that Hell and judgment are real, just like those bigoted dummies called Christians used to warn about.

Now, here is the good news. You are still here. You still have time. You can still call out to the Lord and seek salvation. And then you will know who puts the happy in Happy Holidays and the Merry in Merry Christmas. He is the Lord Jesus.
