Let me ask you a question? Who controls you?
Do you control you?
Do you feel the only way to get anything done in life or the only way to be successful is for you to take control? For you to decide your future and how it is going to unfold. Do you decide how you want to live your life and who you want to live it for? Do you feel comfort in knowing what happens to you is up to what you make happen for yourself? Do your possessions in life speak for how successful you are or for your happiness?

Does someone else control you?
Does someone else control you and how you live from day to day? Do they decide how your going to live each day and what your going to make of it? Do they control your thought and emotions from day to day? Does your happiness depend on how they are going to treat you on any given day? Does your state of mind for that day depend upon if you have an incounter with them or not?

Does God control you?
Well if he doesn’t then he should! God knows what he is doing even if we do not, he has a plan so fantastic for us that we cannot even imagine, he just wants control of our lives that way he can lead us into the wonderfull future that he has planned for us. He wants control of our thoughts and our emotions, he wants to be the source of our happiness from day to day and not other circumstances. Even when others treat us unfairly, it is our job to follow him , dealing with our enemies is his job, we are to be a God pleaser, not a people pleaser!!!! When others discredit us, threaten our peace of mind or push us towards despair, he draws us close. If we spent as much time in front of Gods mirror as we do our own, pleasing others would not be an issue. Proverbs 16:7 says “ When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.” Even though our emotions rise and fall like a roller coaster, God never changes, he is always good, always understanding, always loving, always kind, always fair, he is the same yesterday, today and Forever. What a comforting thought!!!

So who you gonna let control you?
You, someone else or God? I hope you choose God, if you want a hopefull future full of promises then you will choose him. He wants control, he wants our time and our thoughts, he wants to mold us into the kind of person he knows we can be, he wants to prepare us for our future. He wants to be able to give us everything he has promised to us, but he can not do that unless we give him a chance to. Life does not revolve around what kind of car we drive or what kind of clothes we wear or what kind of job we have or even what other think of us, All that matters is what God thinks of us and that we live our life for him with him at the control panel. Maybe you like having control of yourself or deciding your own future, well let me ask you has that worked so far? Are you happy? Or do you feel like your missing something? Do you feel like there has to be something else? Things will make us happy for a while but it will not last, True happiness comes from above, from reading the word and praying and living in God’s will for your life, that is a happiness that others cannot take from you, they will try, but they will not succeed because God is on your side. He is your stability, he is the stabilizing force in our lives, when everything around is shaking, he is the solid rock that hold us secure, his stability keeps us safe. “ He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken”. Psalms62:6.
