THE POWER IN THE FIRE (Series: 2)
WHO SHALL STAND


Revelations 8: 5-6
AND THE ANGEL TOOK THE CENSER, AND FILLED IT WITH FIRE OF THE ALTAR, AND CAST IT INTO THE EARTH: AND THERE WERE VOICES, AND THUNDERINGS, AND LIGHTNINGS, AND AN EARTHQUAKE.
AND THE SEVEN ANGELS, WHICH HAD THE SEVEN TRUMPETS, PREPARED THEMSELVES TO SOUND.

Fire is a very powerful element, important and useful for many things to sustain human life; the fire of God is even more powerful than any other fire or anything in the whole of the Earth.
Fire as a natural element also has a destructive ability; of course, man has long since discovered the use in weapons of war, ever more modern, sophisticated and destructive. If not contained, fire can cause so much destruction within seconds; Fire has been prepared and set apart for the devil and his angels, but all who disobey God and do evil, unfortunately will have to join them when the time is due.
There is a fire above all fires: the fire of the Holy Spirit, that which is available to guide, protect and infill with power, that which manifested as tongues on the Apostles when they were gathered together under one roof, on the day of Pentecost, soon after the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ, this is the fire that can kill, and make alive! Giving life, the life that sustains like fountains of everlasting waters, sparking intermittently as needed like tiny volcanic eruptions.
The Bible describes the Apostles as, being in one accord, in agreement and united, CAN TWO WORK TOGETHER EXCEPT THEY AGREE? This is a very important question in the Bible.
It seems the opposite is what is being practised in the church of today, where there is so much disunity (IN UNITY?) foul play, manipulations jealousy, badmouthing gossiping and so many other character traits that the Lord specifically warns us about.

Who shall really stand on that day, in the number (Numerical or spiritual)? Hen? Who?
Chapter 7 of the book of Revelations verse 1 till the end, tells us about the number of them who will be sealed with an everlasting seal
Verse 3 tells us about the reaction of the angel that ascended from the East giving the four angels to whom it was given to hurt the Earth and the seas, a command.
“Hurt not the earth neither the seas nor the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. AND I HAVE HEARD THE NUMBER OF THEM WHICH WERE SEALED: AND THEY WERE SEALED AN HUNDRED AND FORTY FOUR THOUSAND OF ALL THE TRIBES OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL

Who indeed shall stand? Who is in the number? Whose name is written already in the book of life? In all the strife and disunity of the Church of today, where the enemy is having a field day in the lives of people, turning brother against brother and sister against sister without so much struggle doing so.
It is so disheartening to see the things that go on in the body today. Children of God using God-given talents and gifts to undermine one another, calculating and scheming for position and power that should be wielded against a common enemy.
So much time and energy is wasted on petty scuffles within than without.
Time to build a spiritual frame of mind, getting connected and being in tune with the things of the spirit is used in scheming (out of jealousy and envy) to undermine that sister who is good in planning and administration in the church or that brother who is so gifted with literary skills and is put in charge of all church write-up and tracts. Whilst souls perish, brethren embark on vanquishing one another rather than the enemy.
Who really shall stand if EVEN THE VERY ELECT SHALL BE DECEIVED; in the last days men shall be lovers of themselves yielding more to the things of this world than to the things of God, gross deceit of the heart and in the name of Jesus abounds, IDOLATORY in various forms and hypocrisy especially in the church among the sheep and the shepherd —WHO SHALL STAND!

Men and women shamelessly struggle for the microphone only to exalt self and proclaim doctrines of personal belief, culture and traditions of men rather than God’s word and command to change lives.

Let us take time aside to meditate and ponder over our respective and collective roles and what it should be in the body of Christ, especially during this season of festivities: the remembrance of His birth and what it stood for: Isaiah 9: 6--- FOR UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN AND UNTO US A SON IS GIVEN: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called wonderful, counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting father, the Prince of peace

Are we truly walking in His statutes, obeying His commands and following (Since the name CHRISTIAN—means A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST) His laid down examples?

Psalm 15:1-
Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy Holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned: but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not He that putteth not his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
