I have growing pains in my heart and soul
But it's neccessary strains I embrace and behold
And emptyness never gains so let the truth be told
Just when I make the right move toward
And grab a hold of the hope that's forward
I get caught up and caught up and can't move my feet
I let my focus get distracted by the same deceit
But it's all about choices that I have to make
Gotta rebuke other voices and shake off the fake
Ok,Lord, I'm back here at Your feet again
With a tear in my heart for You to mend
I really do desire to walk with You everyday
But there's always a "but" that gets in my way
I have to ask You, why am I here?
I'm doing some soul searchin' and need You near
Even though I've felt Your love
I'm still stubborn and need a shove
Show me how to remove "I" from the equation
So I can be prepared for life's abrasion
I have always felt Your hand hold mine
I can look back and cherrish how You took time
I know that You have a purpose for me
So bestow Your grace and set me free
I yearn to thirst Your every Word
And thank You, for I know You've heard
This is just the beginning of my spiritual walk
So thank You for listening, I needed to talk
