Many people ask me why do I work so hard and long hours. I am amazed and perplexed at their question. Even one of my colleagues suggested me not to out run the pace of the company. I asked her if she knew of any gadget to measure the pace of the company. Well to be honest people, to me, who ask such questions, lack Biblical knowledge. Let us see, how a Christian Employee should work for a company in the light of the commands of God recorded in the Bible.

Working for God


"Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free." [Ephesians 6:7-8]


The God asks us to be TRUSTWORTHY EMPLOYESS


"Like the coolness of snow at harvest time is a trustworthy messenger to those who send him; he refreshes the spirit of his masters." [Proverbs 25:13]


Christian employees should be known as those who do their best.


"Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive." [Titus 2:9-10]

A Christian employee should have a positive attitude always.

"Work hard and cheerfully at all you do, just as though you were working for the Lord and not merely for your masters." [Colossians 3:23]

Why a Christian employee ahould be different from a non-Christian employee?

"You are the LIGHT of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under abowl. Instead they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven" [Mathew 5:14-16]
