"If you had responded to my rebuke, I (wisdom) would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you." (Proverbs 01:23)
How do you respond to a rebuke? The best response is probably a commitment to seriously consider the merits of the rebuke. Some rebukes may be undeserved, but many may be instructive if you can hear and learn. Wisdom is portrayed as a person in this first chapter of Proverbs, and says that the person who responds to wisdom's rebuke will know the heart and thoughts of wisdom. What better reward than communing in your heart with wisdom. Of meditating and learning life's lessons because you have an intimate knowledge of wisdom. A proper rebuke can be a wonderful teacher in life. When I was about thirty years old my father took me aside and gently cautioned me to pay greater attention to my family and less to my distractions (work, hobbies, etc). I heard my father. I placed limits on my work time; I placed priorities on my family time. Now, over thirty years later I look back on a good marriage, a good wife, and good children. Dad is gone, but his counsel lives on. His rebuke was right. I'm glad I listened.

I am truly blessed to read your proverb for each day. Wisdom in my native language (Arabic)is of the greatest importance for our daily living. So, many parents choose to name a daughter
"HIKMA" WHICH MEANS WISDOM.
Thank you.
