There’s an eagle in my heart,
And it takes flight,
At the sound of Your voice;
The touch of Your hand,
The sight of Your face
This gaze of Your eyes.

He takes to the sky,
And soars e’er so high,
E’er so swiftly,
I can scarcely hold him nigh.

At eagle’s height,
With eagle’s sight,
With eagle’s squeal,
My heart’s eagle,
Finds the One, with joy,
In whom I delight.

And he flies for You,
Takes to You-like the blue,
Seeking love’s thermals,
And in You finds them true.

There’s an eagle in my heart…
