Take that "Turkey" wash it good

Handling Big Tom, is rough . .

Clean out his innards, add some salt

Place him in the pan, and stuff. . .



While you prepare, and make ready

Special food, to tempt everyone

With so much to do, keep the pace steady

Don’t let things get you . . . Undone



The pies are baking, and Jell-O is set

Sweet potatoes are stewing, real nice

Turkey needs basting, keep that skin wet

Don’t forget, the cake has to be iced



Place your fancy tablecloth, just right

Lay the China and Silver, that match

A centerpiece creates, an inviting sight

And napkins, picture a " Pumpkin Patch"



The aroma of turkey, waifs in the air

Water boils, to cook the potatoes

Colorful cole-slaw adds to the flair

Plus a salad with cherry tomatoes



The door bell rings, family arrive

So much talking and chitter-chatters

Telling of the weather, and the drive

Together now, is what really matters



The cheerful feeling, adds a touch

To the festive holiday season . . .

Together, loving and sharing so much

Thankfulness, being the main reason



At the table, holding hands to pray

Surrounded with family, you love

Each thanking God, in their own special way

For His blessings, He sends from above
