A Bedtime Prayer

Heavenly Father, whilst we sleep,
Please, this house, safely keep,
Whilst You give us peaceful rest,
Surround it with Your angelic hedge.

Keep this house safe from harm,
Wrap in in Your everlasting arms,
Encircle it with Your protection,
With guardian angels stationed.

Allow no evil force to enter,
Please keep Your guard central,
Keeping all transgressors outside,
Here, let only Thy guests reside.

Every night let us sleep without dread,
For our angels encamp around our beds,
Keep this house in peace and respite,
Let it in no way be for Satan's usage.

Having said that, "Lord, goodnight
I rest in being kept by Thy might,
I have no need to worry or fear,
For all is in Thy safe care."
