"His rod and His staff will comfort me.........."-Psalm 23:5

A Shepherd's hand does not push
or pull His sheep away
from their own desires
when they have gone astray.
A shepherd's hand leads gently
the herd, wandering, alone
back to the place of safety
to their origional home.
The Good Shepherd, Jesus
does not force His sheep
to come back to Him
when they have left the fold
when they come back to Him
it must be on their own.
He will never force you
though His heart longs to see
your return to your first love
like proverbial sheep.
His rod and staff will comfort
to quiet waters He will lead.
He forgives our failures
because He loves His sheep.
The Shepherd's hands are gentle
when we come back to His hands
He will forgive and accept us
because He understands.
