Scene: (Ed and Wade are seated at a table stage center. They both pull the following items out of their lunch bags in the exact same way. They both open their thermos of soup at the same time. Ed and Wade both open small cartons of milk and have nothing to pour them into).

Ed: I’ll get the glasses.

Wade: Ok.

Ed: Do you want anything while I am gone?

Wade: No. Thanks for asking though.

Ed: Sure. No problem.

(Ed walks to stage r and takes two glasses that are sitting on the counter. He simulates washing them, and brings them back to the table. Meanwhile, Wade returns with his usual Snickers bar).

Ed: Here you go.

Wade: (Noticing that another co-worker has brought a sandwhich that looks very enticing to Wade). I don’t know if I want milk today Ed. I mean I want something different, something more satisfying.

Ed: Really? Like what?

Wade: (Pondering that question looks at the Snickers bar): I-don’t know. I just want to try something different. I am very hungry.

Ed: I hear you. We have been doing the same thing everyday for 10 years. I am kind of bored too. What else is out there for us to try?

(Their co-worker Janet enters from stage L she is reading a bible. She has overheard their entire conversation.)

Janet: Got Jesus?--(She looks at them and then continues her reading).

(Ed and Wade look at each other in bewilderment because she is giving them something to think about).

(Blackout)
