Changing Self

God never asked us to change our self
As we would never need Him
The changes that we desire do come
As in His presence, we will enter in

We only stand by His grace through faith
Our works will never avail
God wants all the Glory for himself
His works alone, will prevail

God knows all that we do
All the right and all the wrong
God expects us to come as we are
He is the one, who gives to us a new song

We seem to think that we must change our self
Before we can come to Him
But this is just a lie of the enemy
And will only keep us in our sin

Jesus is the Potter
We are but the clay
We just need to let the Master mold us
We must let Him, have His way

There is a simple key that we sometimes miss
If we will just come to Him
Jesus will change us when Him we seek
The Blood of Jesus is what cleanses, all of our sin

One of the greatest truths that I ever learned
That I have found in God’s Word
Is that it is not by my might, nor my power
But it is by My Spirit, saith the Lord.
