Just Pray for Me

Based on: Luke 6:28. Bless them that curse you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you.

When your neighbor is angry
With you without cause
And they curse and swear
All you are seeing is their heart flaws
They are really saying, just pray for me!

Do you take offense
And call them a jerk?
Do you just write them off
And just think that they went berserk?
When all they are saying, is just pray for me!

When your brother or sister
Do things that are uncool
Do you play God over them
Or call them a fool?
Though pride may not let them ask, they are saying just pray for me!

When the boss at work
Jumps on your case
Do you get angry and quit
Because of the words he said in haste?
He is just overloaded, and saying, just pray for me!

When the checker at the store
Is slower than a ant
Do you get impatient in the line
And your displeasure vent?
When they are new to the job, they just are saying help, just pray for me!

There are many opportunities
That we have to take offense
For we are surrounded by hurting people
Who do things that seem nonsense
Who are just constantly saying, please just pray for me!

These people let you see their heart
As they can’t really handle any more
They just need a smile from you
Instead of salt in their sore
They just need someone, to pray for them

Instead of taking offense
And letting the devil shoot a dart
Just remember that they need help
They just need the same grace that gave you a new start
They just need you to pray for them

All these people are saying
Is that we need someone with truth to pray
These are our cries for help
As we can’t seem to find a peaceful way

Please just pray for me!
As my struggle you now can see
Help me to find God’s peace too
For me just pray and intercede.
